Bit of Bragging on the kid

Stephen was awarded the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal and I learned of it around the time of the hurricane and I forgot to post about it.  The kid sent me the text of his award, which I am going to post here.  This is what the medal looks like:

Summary Action: This is a impact award for Exercise ULCHI FOCUS LENS (UFL) from 9 August to 3 September 2005. During this period LCpl Stephen:

-Took the initiative to remain on watch sometimes up to 6 hours past shift change to help assist the users with computer problems.
-Instrumental on the physical infrastructure layout in the TACC, which included the installation of over 2 miles of computer cable for computer networks all done in a timely manner.
-Helped install 200 network drops.
-Personally responded to over 400 documented trouble calls and over 100 on the spot trouble calls successfully completing those tasks in support of the TACC during UFL 05'.
-Managed 4 Marines and trouble calls on the helpdesk during evening hours.
-Assisted in configuring 14 switches.
-Administer 600+ user accounts.
-Helped eliminate Zotob Virus on network by pushing virus updates to all computers before adding to the network, eliminating any virus from computers that were identified.
-Established Network diagrams
-Maintained 1st MAW Information Services Directory.

DEMONSTRATING METICULOUS ATTENTION TO DETAIL, HE SUCCESSFULLY SUPPORTED THE TACTICAL AIR COMMAND CENTER BY ASSISTING IN THE INSTALLATION OF OVER 2 MILES OF COMPUTER CABLE AND INSTALLING, CONFIGURING AND PROGRAMMING 14 SWITCHES AND 200 NETWORK CONNECTIONS. ADDITIONALLY, LANCE CORPORAL Stephen SPENT OVER 240 HOURS RESPONDING TO OVER 400 TROUBLE TICKETS AND SCORES OF ON-THE-SPOT COMPUTER AND NETWORK PROBLEMS, OFTEN TIMES THROUGH THE NIGHT. HE WAS ALSO INSTRUMENTAL IN ELIMINATING THE ZOTOB VIRUS FROM THE
TACTICAL NETWORK AT A CRITICAL PERIOD DURING THE OPERATION, FURTHER CEMENTING THE WING'S SUCCESS AT THE EXERCISE. LANCE CORPORAL Stephen'S INITIATIVE, PERSEVERANCE, AND TOTAL DEDICATION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIM AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE MARINE CORPS AND THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
